Sustainability brings people together

Nature conservation meets technology

A unique partnership has been in place since April 2022 between the Heidenreichsteiner Moor Nature Park and the company Bühler Heidenreichstein. Under the motto ‘Sustainability connects – nature conservation meets technology’, a wide range of activities are being implemented across all four pillars of nature parks (conservation, education, regional development and recreation).
Thanks to this exceptional partnership between a nature conservation association and a technology company, and the involvement of staff from both organisations, all three dimensions of sustainability (environmental, economic and social) are also being addressed.
In addition to providing financial support for the nature park association’s work, the main focus is on raising awareness and fostering understanding. Among other things, new awareness-raising materials for the nature park are being planned and implemented jointly, and regular workshops and guided tours are organised for staff.

Our partnership

  • Annual financial support for the Heidenreichstein Nature Park Association from Bühler Heidenreichstein
. Regular sponsorship helps to protect the valuable bog ecosystem.
  • Production of awareness-raising materials:
The ‘Moorarium’ display tank shows the simplified structure of a moor and illustrates the long periods of time involved in its development. Over 100 years, the peat layer grows by an average of only about 10 cm. The ‘Moorarium’ was planned jointly by the Nature Park and staff from Bühler; the construction and assembly of the steel structure were carried out by Bühler staff.
  • Environmental awareness workshops for apprentices:
Under the motto ‘Nature Park instead of a training workshop’, all apprentices at Bühler Heidenreichstein take part in a two-day environmental awareness workshop in the nature park. The aim is to link technical apprenticeship training with nature, the economy and local habitats.
  • Information, awareness-raising and sensitisation through excursions:
guided tours of the nature park for staff and business partners
