Nature Park Strategy 2030

The Nature Park Strategy sets out the strategic development of the Nature Park for the coming years and is based on the four pillars of the Nature Park’s philosophy – conservation, education, regional development and recreation. With this strategy document, the nature park not only fulfils its statutory mandate but can also drive forward self-determined, sustainable development in the region. This Nature Park Concept is not intended to be a document that ends up in a drawer, but rather a concrete roadmap for how the Nature Park should develop over the coming years – in line with the vision of the people who live here.

The ‘Four Pillars’ form the basis of nature parks

Nature parks preserve and develop unspoilt natural areas and landscapes worthy of protection. Cultural landscapes shaped over centuries are preserved and brought to life for visitors to understand and experience.

Unique biodiversity

Through ongoing measures in line with international standards, the nature parks sustainably enhance the unique biodiversity and exceptional species diversity in their regions and are committed to the Lower Austria Nature Conservation Charter. 

Diverse Lower Austria

Today, Lower Austria’s nature parks have become an indispensable part of the region’s extraordinary diversity. They offer places of tranquillity, excitement and adventure. Naturally, in order to carry out their activities, the nature parks require not only a strong regional presence but also financial support from the Province of Lower Austria.
