BIOBLITZ Challenge at
Heidenreichsteiner Moor Nature Reserve

Together, we have highlighted the biodiversity in our nature parks

Nature is full of little wonders

A soft buzzing in the meadow, a colourful butterfly in the sunlight or a rare orchid at the edge of the forest – Lower Austria’s nature parks are full of little wonders. If you take the time to look closely, you’ll discover a fascinating diversity of species that is often hidden right before our eyes.

With the BIOBLITZ Challenge organised by the nature parks of Lower Austria, we have brought biodiversity to life.

Discover, photograph, identify – not just during the challenge

Even though the nature parks’ BioBlitz Challenge has now ended, you can still help to raise awareness of biodiversity.

It’s as simple as this:

  • Explore nature – keep an eye out for plants, animals and fungi
  • Record your observations – take photos of what you find
  • Share your species – upload your observations to iNaturalist

Every single report helps to expand our knowledge of biodiversity in Lower Austria and create a vivid picture of our natural world.
