Gasthof Großmann
Tavern / innThis business is excellent…
Description
Despite a regularly changing menu, Gasthof Großmann also relies on tried and tested dishes. Regional, lovingly prepared home cooking is still the mainstay of the inn. Landlady Gabriele Großmann has been skillfully showcasing the advantages of the region since 1996. The fried Waldviertel carp or the typical local dumplings have already achieved cult status in Heidenreichstein and the surrounding area. The oven-fresh roast pork with its deliciously crispy crust is served on Sundays and public holidays as well as every Thursday. A Waldviertel coleslaw is served as a side dish. Seasonal changes also have a positive effect on the menu. A solid basic structure ensures consistency, while new creations add welcome and varied sophistication to the menu.
Waldviertel on the plate, Wasserburg in view
In addition to home-style pub cuisine, Gasthof Großmann scores points with its fabulous view. The moated castle of Heidenreichstein is a real feast for the eyes. In general, the location is hard to beat. Surrounded by idyllic ponds, forests and a large network of cycling and hiking trails, the inn is a popular meeting place for a family outing. A visit to the Waldviertel narrow-gauge railroad or Heidenreichstein Cheese Makers' World is recommended before or after enjoying the superb inn cuisine. This region has a lot to offer excursionists - so a longer stay is well worthwhile: 15 guest rooms can be booked at Gasthof Großmann, which offer the highest level of comfort.
